Choosing Bottle Feeding
Motherhood brings with it a lot of different options. You have to choose what types of diapers you will use, how you will decorate the nursery, what types of clothes you will need, and many other choices. One of the biggest choices for mom's every where is whether or not they will breastfeed. Breastfeeding is a great option. There are slogans to go with it, "Breast is Best!", doctors press it, others ask, and there is a lot of pressure to breastfeed. There are even statistics that make parents feel that they really don't have a choice but to breastfeed. However, breastfeeding comes with a list of disadvantages as well. There are a ton of great advantages to bottle feeding as well. It must be noted that bottle feeding can be a choice. *It is a personal choice. You aren't damaging your child or causing horrible health issues by bottle feeding your baby instead of breast feeding. *Bottle feeding can let everyone feed the baby, something that is very fun. Aunts and Uncles, grandparents, cousins, and other loved ones can enjoy the joys of feeding the baby as well as just mom. This can also increase dad's responsibilities and his roles as a father. *Bottle feeding is often cleaner for mom. Some women love breastfeeding. However, it should be noted that some don't. Some don't like the smell of breast milk or the feel of being dirty while having breast milk leak and other issues. *Bottle feeding makes it easy to go out, to work, and to let someone else watch the baby. Sure you can pump, but it is easier to make a bottle. This can be an option for those who like to get out or those who have to work. The best of options is to have a plan should you not like breast feeding. Try breast feeding if you think you would like it. If you don't, don't feel bad. If you do, good for you. This will let you make the choice that works best for you and your family. |
